Crossroads Care Trafford offers regular breaks for carers of anything upward of two hours per week, services include personal care, bathing or showering, emergency support and specialist care for children with complex and additional needs. We simply take over the role of the carer and care for your loved one whilst you take some time to be yourself and take a well earned break.
Our services are available to carers of people with any disability or health and social care needs of all age groups, and these services are usually free to carers who live in the Trafford area once they have had a carers assessment and have been referred to us by Trafford Carers Centre.
If you think Crossroads may be able to help, we will visit you at home and, together with the person you care for, design the service that meets your respective needs.
As a carer or as the person with care needs, you may be entitled to Direct Payments or Personal Budget support funded by your Local Authority through a social worker’s involvement, alternatively, you may choose to pay direct from your own money or you may wish to top-up state entitlements e.g. Attendance Allowance.
Whatever your situation, you can take comfort that as a charity we care for people – not for profit.
All our support workers are fully trained in all aspects of practical care and are sensitive to the emotional pressures of caring. Their training and experience, gained over many years in most cases, means they understand what carers and those they care for need and feel. They know the simple things that matter, they do the hard jobs with a smile and they take pleasure in fitting into your life.
